Privacy policy

This site is a static website. It has no user accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no forms, so we do not ask you for personal information and have nothing to store about you in a profile.

Server logs

Our web server (nginx) keeps standard access logs. These typically include your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser's user agent and the referring page. We keep them for security and troubleshooting, such as spotting abusive traffic, and we do not use them to identify individual visitors or to build profiles.

Analytics

We do not currently use an analytics service. We may use a privacy-friendly one in the future to see which pages are read. If we do, this page will be updated to name the tool and describe what it collects.

Amazon links and cookies

Links labeled "Check price on Amazon" lead to Amazon.com. When you click one, Amazon may set cookies on your device so it can credit us for a qualifying purchase. Amazon's own privacy notice governs what it collects. We do not receive your name, your order details or your payment information. See the disclosure page for how the program works.

Other than that, the site does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. You can block or delete cookies, including Amazon's, in your browser settings; this site works the same without them.

Other sites

We link to manufacturer websites, manuals and support pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

The site is a general-audience guide for pet owners and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will change with it. For questions about privacy, see the contact page.
