The two at a glance
The 3 Pro is the 1.6 L, USB-only fountain with a stainless steel body, and the Max 2 is the 3 L fountain with a stainless tray that can run on its built-in battery. Both are app-connected, both come with the UVC version of PETKIT's wireless pump, and both are listed for cats and small dogs.

Pump:
Where do the two models differ most?
Three rows carry most of the difference: capacity, power and materials. The 3 Pro holds 1.6 L and needs USB power. The Max 2 holds 3 L and can run from a battery, although PETKIT does not state the battery capacity, so there is no mAh figure to compare. On materials the two are mirror images: the 3 Pro has a plastic bowl on a stainless steel body, and the Max 2 has a stainless tray on a plastic body.
How close are they on noise and pump?
Very close. The claimed noise is 25 dB for the 3 Pro and 26 dB for the Max 2, a one-decibel gap between two manufacturer figures. Both share the same pump family, the wireless pump FFT1-2 with part code P41161, in its UVC version, so a spare pump is not a deciding factor.
What goes wrong, and is it different?
The only sourced problem we hold for both models is the pump stopping through its low-water protection. In practice that means checking the water level before assuming the pump has failed. The Max 2 has a bigger tank, which means it takes longer to reach that level, but that is arithmetic and not a maker claim.

Which one should you choose?
Choose EverSweet 3 Pro if…
- Your fountain will stay near an outlet. The 3 Pro runs on USB only, and the table shows it as not cordless.
- A stainless steel body matters to you. The maker describes the 3 Pro tank as 304 stainless steel, while the Max 2 body is plastic.
- One small pet is enough to plan for. At 1.6 L it holds about half of what the Max 2 does.
- You want a replacement filter we can name: our records list the Filter Unit 3.0 (code P4161) for the 3 Pro.
Choose EverSweet Max 2 if…
- There is no socket where the pet drinks. The Max 2 takes USB or its built-in battery, which the maker rates at 83 days.
- You want the larger 3 L tank so you refill less often.
- Cleaning is a priority. PETKIT calls the Max 2 tank, tray, lid, filter holder and outlet pipe dishwasher safe, and the table shows no such claim for the 3 Pro.
- You accept a gap in the data: the replacement filter for the Max 2 was not listed on the pages we read, so check the manual before ordering one.
