PETKIT water fountains

PETKIT's fountains in our database are four EverSweet models: Solo 2, 3 Pro (UVC), Max (Cordless) and Max 2 (UVC). All four share the same detachable wireless pump and a Bluetooth app. The main choice is plug-in or battery, and whether you want the UVC pump version.

How is the PETKIT line-up organized?

PETKIT's EverSweet fountains differ from most competitors in one respect: the pump is a separate wireless unit that sits in the base and takes power through the base rather than through a cable running through the water. The maker describes it as a heat-resistant housing with a water-level sensor that stops the pump when the tank runs low. Every model in our database uses this pump family, so one replacement part number (P41161) covers all four, in a standard and a UVC version.

Capacity runs from 1.6 L (3 Pro) through 2.0 L (Solo 2) to 3.0 L (both Max models). PETKIT states the target as cats and small-breed dogs, and the manufacturer noise claims are 25 to 26 dB where given. The table lists every figure with its source and check date.

Which PETKIT model suits which home?

These are decision rules from the specs, not a ranking.

  • A fountain by an outlet, smaller tank: the Solo 2 (2.0 L) and the 3 Pro (1.6 L) run on USB only. The 3 Pro has a stainless body and a UVC pump; the Solo 2 is plastic.
  • No outlet near the drinking spot: the Max (Cordless) and Max 2 (UVC) hold 3.0 L and run on a built-in battery or USB. PETKIT claims up to 83 days per charge, but does not state a battery capacity, so we cannot give you a mAh figure.
  • Easier cleaning: the Max 2 is the model where the maker lists several parts as dishwasher safe. On the Solo 2, PETKIT says none are.
  • UVC pump: the 3 Pro and Max 2 come with the UVC pump version. Whether you want it is a preference; the filters and cleaning schedule still apply.

Filters and the wireless pump

PETKIT lists two filter parts: the Filter Unit 3.0 (P4161) for the Solo 2 and 3 Pro, and the Filter Unit RECT (P4171) for the Max (Cordless). For the Max 2, the pages we read did not name a replacement filter type, so we leave it blank rather than guess. PETKIT states 2 to 4 weeks per filter. Part codes, media and sources are on the PETKIT filters page, and the pump page explains how wireless pumps differ from a submersible one.

Common PETKIT problems

Our fix records for PETKIT come from the manual and PETKIT's pump page. They cover the low-water standby on the Solo 2, where a flashing blue light means the tank needs a refill, and the pump stopping because its low-water protection kicked in, which applies to all four models. The usual remedies are a refill, reseating the pump in its slot and cleaning debris from the pump. The details are on the PETKIT troubleshooting page. Only two PETKIT issues are recorded so far, so for anything else go to PETKIT's help center.

Known PETKIT issues

Fountain in standby because the water level is too low (blue light flashing)

  1. Refill the tank with water.
  2. The fountain resumes normal operation once it is refilled.
  3. If the light alternates blue and green, replug the USB cable to restart it, and contact support if it persists.

Pump stopped by its low-water protection

  1. Check the water level and refill the tank to the fill line.
  2. Reseat the wireless pump in its slot and make sure the base is powered.
  3. Clean the pump if debris is blocking it, and replace the filter on the 2 to 4 week schedule.

FAQ

Do all PETKIT EverSweet fountains use the same pump?

According to PETKIT's pages, the Wireless Water Pump FFT1-2 (part P41161) is listed for all four EverSweet models in our database. The 3 Pro and Max 2 come with the UVC version of that pump.

Which PETKIT fountain works without a power cable?

The EverSweet Max (Cordless) and Max 2 (UVC) have a built-in battery that the maker rates at up to 83 days, and they also run on USB. The Solo 2 and 3 Pro must stay plugged in.

Are PETKIT fountains dishwasher safe?

It depends on the model. PETKIT says no part of the Solo 2 is dishwasher safe, while it lists the Max 2 tank, tray, lid, filter holder and outlet pipe as dishwasher safe. Check the manual for your model.

How often do PETKIT filters need replacing?

PETKIT gives 2 to 4 weeks per filter and the app sends a reminder. The Filter Unit 3.0 and the Filter Unit RECT are different parts, so match the filter to the model.
