Catit fountain filters by model

Catit uses one triple action filter family across its fountains: the Flower models take the Triple Action filter or the Flower filter pad, the Mini Flower takes its own Mini filter, and every PIXI takes the PIXI filter. Catit says to replace the filter about every 30 days.

Which Catit filter fits which fountain?

Catit has two families of fountain in our database. The Flower line (including the Mini) runs from a power adapter; the PIXI line is USB-powered with a detachable pump. Within each family the filters are shared, which makes matching simple once you know your model name. The table under the finder above shows every Catit model with the filter and pump we have recorded, and the summary is here.

Fountain Filter Part code
Flower Fountain, LED Flower Fountain, Stainless Steel Flower Fountain Triple Action Fountain Filter 43745 (2-pack; 5-pack 43746, 12-pack 43748)
Same three Flower models Flower Fountain Triple Action Filter Pad 43738 (2-pack; 6-pack 43739)
Mini Flower Fountain Mini Fountain Filter 44005 (3-pack)
PIXI Fountain, PIXI with Stainless Steel Top, PIXI Smart Fountain PIXI Fountain Filter 43721 (3-pack; 6-pack 43722, 12-pack 43723)

Catit says the filter pad uses 75 percent less plastic than the cartridge. Both Flower options are listed with the same media, so choose by what your fountain currently holds.

How often do Catit filters need changing?

Catit states about every 30 days for the triple action filter, and our database lists 4 weeks for all four Catit filters. That is on the longer side next to PETLIBRO's two weeks (compare brands on the interval page). Households with several cats, long-haired cats or hard water will want to go earlier. The PIXI Smart Fountain adds filter alerts through its app, according to the maker.

How do I replace a Catit filter?

Four panels: unplug and remove the old filter, rinse the new one, fit it, refill and restart
The general replacement sequence. Your Catit manual shows the exact holder for your model.

The diagram shows the general sequence; check your model's manual for where the filter sits. Catit publishes PDF manuals for the Flower, LED Flower, Stainless Steel Flower and PIXI fountains.

  1. Unplug the fountain and lift out the old filter.
  2. Rinse the new filter under water to flush loose carbon dust.
  3. Seat it firmly in its holder. Our database has no direction note for Catit filters, so follow the orientation shown in your manual.
  4. Refill with fresh water, plug in and check that water is moving.

Use the change as a prompt to wash the reservoir and pump too; the cleaning guide lists the order.

Catit filter questions that need a different page

If water does not come out after a new filter, the Catit records list a clogged pump or a restart as the cause; see fixes for those steps. For the Catit brand overview, including support pages for the Flower and PIXI fountains, go to the brands section.

FAQ

Which Catit filter fits the Flower Fountain?

The Flower Fountain, LED Flower Fountain and Stainless Steel Flower Fountain are listed with both the Triple Action filter (part 43745, a 2-pack) and the Flower filter pad (43738, a 2-pack). The Mini Flower Fountain is the exception and needs the Mini filter, part 44005.

How often should I change a Catit filter?

Catit's own figure is every 30 days, which our database records as 4 weeks. Change it sooner if the flow drops or the water smells.

Do PIXI and Flower filters interchange?

Not according to the maker. Catit lists the PIXI filter (43721) for the PIXI fountains and the Flower filters for the Flower fountains, so match the filter to your model rather than to the brand.

What is in a Catit triple action filter?

The database lists cotton mesh, activated carbon and ion-exchange resin as the media. The mesh catches hair and debris, the carbon and resin address odor and taste.
