On paper these are close: all four models hold 3 L, have a stainless steel tray on a plastic body, use a wireless pump, connect to an app and are listed for cats and dogs. The differences are in the details the table shows, namely the claimed noise, whether the battery size is published, and which filter you will be buying.

How do these two lines differ in design?
Both brands moved the pump out of the water. PETKIT describes a detachable wireless pump that sits in the base, and PETLIBRO describes a motor in the base that spins a rotor inside the tank. In the table both register as a wireless pump, so the pump row shows no difference, even though a spare part is different for each: P41161 on the PETKIT side and nothing separate for the Dockstream 2, whose rotor design the maker describes without a pump code.
What do the missing cells tell you?
The "not published" and "1 of 2 models" marks are informative. For PETKIT, no battery capacity appears in our sources, the filter interval is a 2 to 4 week range rather than a single figure, and the Max 2 has no filter listed at all. For PETLIBRO, the battery and interval are stated, but the Dockstream 2 plug-in has no battery, so the battery cell reflects only one of its two models. If a number matters to you, check it in the linked source before buying.
Which known problems apply?
PETKIT has a single sourced problem for these models: the pump stops through its low-water protection. PETLIBRO has more on file for Dockstream 2, including false low-water alerts, a leaking tank, noise, and rust spots on the stainless tray. The shorter PETKIT list may only mean there is less written about it, so read it as a maintenance guide.

Which one should you choose?
Choose PETKIT EverSweet Max if…
- You want every PETKIT model on this side to run on USB or battery. Both Max models are listed as USB plus battery, so none of them depends on a separate plug-in version.
- A PETKIT pump suits you, with the UVC version available on the Max 2. Part code P41161 is the wireless pump on both PETKIT models.
- You value long runtime claims. PETKIT says up to 83 days per charge, though it does not publish a battery capacity, so you cannot check that against the battery size.
- You want a long list of dishwasher-safe parts. The Max 2 tank, tray, lid, filter holder and outlet pipe are listed as dishwasher safe.
Choose PETLIBRO Dockstream 2 if…
- You like to see the battery size. PETLIBRO lists 5200 mAh for the Dockstream 2 Cordless.
- You want the lower claimed noise: 23 dB for Dockstream 2, against 26 dB on the one Max model that states it.
- You want one fixed filter interval. PETLIBRO gives PL-FF005 a two-week change interval, while PETKIT gives a 2 to 4 week range for its filters.
- You would rather choose the power type at purchase. Dockstream 2 comes as a separate cordless and plug-in model, so you can skip the battery.
